Blake and I experienced our first ever staycation and it was WONDERFUL. We spent the weekend at Willows Lodge, which I'm convinced is the best hidden gem west of the Mississippi. :)

What is a staycation you ask? It's where you drop off your kids (or in our case, our dog), and get away locally for however long you want with no agenda other than connecting with one another and hanging out.

We had a gorgeous suite right in the middle of wine country. It came with a huge jetted tub, plush bathrobes and slippers, and in-room dining service (who cares that my breakfast cost $25!). Blake and I went walking along the trails by the lodge, and even stopped to catch a local little league game, getting a glimpse into our future with Brecken in a few years. :)

Needless to say, after some serious relaxation, in-room spa treatments, and good food to share with wonderful company, I am a fan of Willows Lodge and staycations. DO IT!

  1. You both deserved this, and it sounds like it was incredible. Willows Lodge is a great little get-a-way, my mom and Dave just had a little staycation, last month there.

Can't wait to meet little Brecken!

  2. Sounds great. We love staycations because they maximize the time away and minimize the time spent traveling to get away. Good for you!
