Soft as butta...

Welp, here we are. Final 2 weeks. I've been really struggling with anxiousness the last week or so just not knowing what to expect and wanting to know more about WHEN this thing is going to happen.

Went to the doctor again today and these were her updates:
2.5 cm dialated (last week was 1cm!)
50% effaced
"Buttery soft" cervix (don't Google image that)
And a "WHOA, he's LOW!"

Most importantly I think she saw in my eyes how done I am. I didn't ask or say anything specific, she just knew. She also said that if he's not here by next Thursday, then we can schedule a birthday party for Brecken! So yes, you read that right: my little boy will be here in less than 2 weeks! I wasn't as elated as I would have thought I was going to be to hear that I could be induced if he doesn't come on his own by next week probably mainly because I was still writhing in pain with tears coming down from "getting checked". I don't even know if this is appropriate blog stuff to write about. I'll probably get flagged, but I just wish someone would have shared with me prior so that I knew what to better expect. I guess hindsight supposedly ERASES all this physical pain that you endure once you hold that little babe...

Now that it's crunch time, we still have the following to accomplish:
1. Get dresser set up (ordered and on it's way)
2. Finish nursery - working on wall decor and shelving. Can't decide on exactly how to decorate the walls, but will for sure post pictures as soon as I do. I think I'll probably post it on ratemyspace.com too (it's a link through HGTV) because I've used so many of those nurseries as inspiration.
3. Clean this house!
4. SLEEP! Blake is hopefully stopping to get me some Unisom tonight so that I'm not an insomniac anymore...that really wears on ya!

One last thing would just be prayers for my mom and dad that they can get back here to Washington in time. My dad had a freak golf cart battery explosion accident (only in Arizona retired life...) and is stuck in AZ until the doctor releases him. Because he can't see and has to be monitored 24/7, my mom flew down there today. She is obviously quite worried that she's going to miss not only Brecken being born, but also my sister's graduation from WSU. I know that there's nothing that we can do to change things, but I also know that it would crush her if she had to miss one or the other, or both. It will all work out though...BRECKEN'S ON HIS WAY!!!!

Heels On a 3 yr old...entertaining :)

So my friend Becky has a blog that she is REALLY good at maintaining (probably has something to do with the fact that she's living in New York with lots of interesting things to do and see). Anyway, her blog was featured on some website the other day because of a controversial Suri Cruise post.

{Is it totally sad and terrible that I think little Suri in heels is mildly cute and entertaining}? I mean, come on Beck, what if she is on her way to tea with the freaking Queen (this COULD happen for Katie Holmes)?! I would want my little girl dressed to the nine (is that the expression?).

Okay lunch with the Queen twice? Probably not likely. So maybe it is a habit that she wears heels. But can you blame her? If I had access to Louboutin's everyday you better believe I would take advantage! She just wants to be like mom which is endearing. :)

Best part about the whole thing is that by my friend posting this on her blog, she had 125 comments!!! Mostly from RANDOMS! Ha. I love how celebrity consumes us. So bad, yet so magnetic.

In conclusion: {Suri Cruise, if you can rock it at 3} - have at it. :) Love you Beck!

Sneak Peak

In these last few weeks, Blake and I have left some of the MAJOR projects to the very end in prepping for Brecken's arrival. :) One of these is the Nursery.

{I am so thankful for a husband that not only loves doing manly projects, but also who is just so good at them as well}. Here is an unfiltered sneak peak at the progress made in his room thus far. There is still a lot of decorating and furniture to acquire, but we're getting there and I LOVE it so far!

Inspiration (bedding pattern) for the whole room...

Blake added some graffiti to test the paint color on the walls. We used Elephant Grey (like the Master Bedroom) above the chair rail.  Brecken's initials, my initials, and Blake's. :)

Plain room transformed with two-tone greys (my latest obsession) and a little architectural detail with a chair rail. Good job babe!

El Gaucho

A couple weeks ago, we were invited to El Gaucho (my first time!) to celebrate my aunt Tracey's 50th birthday! It was a super fun family night celebrating Tracey and eating DELICIOUS food! On my plate were lobster mashed potatoes that were to die for, crab cakes, and the most delectable steak EVER. Here are a few highlights from the evening!

Wish that Blair (cousin), Amy (sister) and my mom could have rounded out the women of the fam pic. Someday we'll all be together, I swear...

Good Friday & Easter

Today is Good Friday, although it's POURING outside and I'm not sure how good that is. :)

This is my first year working at EastLake during Easter, and man oh man, do I now appreciate what it takes to prepare for an event like Easter. I've put in at least three 12+ hr days this week, which at 34 weeks pregnant isn't exactly the easiest feat. But it's been fun and I know will be so worth it.

We are expecting over 8,000 people this weekend. Holy. Balls. We've already had a few minor hiccups in our prep (thank you Mr. Pager Man who can't deliver our pagers on time), but I know and trust that God will prevail. I've been praying for all of the people that are going to come to church for the first time this weekend, and I know that something little like a Pager for their child, isn't going to stop them from hearing about the hope that I've been blessed with.

So here's to a great Easter weekend, and my first one being a part of something so huge that God has orchestrated.
