My Gray Period

Picasso had his blue period. Marilyn Manson had his black period. I am in my gray period. I'm obsessed with anything gray! (PS is it gray or grey?)

My bed is grey...

Brecken's room is grey...

My favorite sweater right now is grey...

The artwork on my walls is grey...(PS, this was a fun DIY project)

Heck, I'd even be willing to drive a car that was grey...

All that to say that if we get this house that we are trying to buy...better watch out, because it's going to get a splash of grey all over! (It's seriously just the best neutral though isn't it?!)

16 Weeks Later

And then he passed out:

Life with Brecken at almost 4 months:
...Drool is the name of the game - rags always on hand...
...Smiling warms my heart...
...He has turned into a little rolly-polly...
...His 3-6 Month wardrobe is in full effect...
...I still think I have the cutest baby in the world...
...No, I'm not ready for Baby #2 yet...
...Outgrown his swing, but LOVES his playmat...
...Has lots of BFFs (Brody, Rad, Liam, Parker)
...Loves the ladies (Vivian, Lilly, Hadley, Saxyn)...
...Milk is still his meal of choice...

Love him!

First Family Vacation

Well, we made it! Our week-long trip to Orondo, WA camping with several of our friends was a success! Camping is something that my family never grew up doing and most people would think that it totally wouldn't be in my personality to enjoy something like this. But the truth is that I love camping. Now mind you, there has to be parameters: bathrooms, running water, hot (so no woods camping), etc. This year we even had power and set up our big fan in our tent for Brecken at night!

These are the types of experiences though that Blake and I want Brecken to have growing up. There's something to be said for escaping for a week, unplugging from the world (we turned our cell phones off!), and just enjoying God's beauty and easy pace of life. It's often hard to be with friends that don't have kids, but thankfully Brecken was pretty good all week (despite the 100 degree heat)!

We were TERRIBLE at documenting our trip, but here are a few quick highlights...I just realized as I was about to upload these that we didn't even get a picture of the 3 of us. :(

Thanks for a fun week Kruses, Bergmans, Macks, Patchins, and Olsen's! Can't wait for 2011!

Orondo 2010

We are off to a week of friends, sunshine and s'mores in Eastern Washington. This is a fun tradition that we started with Blake's friends from high school and I'm really looking forward to new memories as we are the first to add a baby to the bunch this year!

Here are a few highlights from some of the 2009 trip:

The Patchins!

Well our 7 week in a row set of weddings ended this last weekend with the most beautiful and fun wedding of all! Blake and I had the privilege and honor of being asked to stand by our good friends, Brandon and Lauren, as they celebrated their new marriage and commitment to one another. Blake and I both agreed that it was the best bridal party that we have been a part of and definitely one of the prettiest weddings! This marriage was a long time in the making and the Carbonattos played a big part in it - we get the fun bragging rights of being able to say that we introduced Brandon and Lauren. Who would have thought that it would blossom into SUCH a beautiful thing however many years later!?

Here is them at our wedding over 4 years ago:

We seriously cannot WAIT for the Patchins to move back to Seattle and join us for all of life's adventures. For now though, we're excited for them to start their life in San Diego and make regular trips home.

Here are a few highlights from their special day courtesy of the ever-talented Jason Koenig:

What do these things have in common?

I'll tell you what they have in common...

I love when places, things, and people come together for the common good. This Friday, I am going to be a part of something big. THOUSANDS of people are going to be getting clean water for the next 20 years who have NEVER had it before. Want to come with me? I'll pay for your ticket.
