Need a Good Read

Vacation is on the horizon (SUNSHINE FINALLY) and I'm super excited.

5 days in Boca Raton...just my husband and I...no baby toddlers in sight.

I need a good read though.

I've read The Help.
LOVED.  Excited for the movie.

And within the last week, I just finished Something Borrowed...
Loved.
...Oh, and saw the movie.
Great girlfriend movie.  LOVED.

And Heaven's For Real.
Run and buy this book RIGHT NOW!  Life-changing!

Thank you Husband's new iPad for making read so easy and accessible these days. :)

Anyway, I need your recommendations.

{What are some poolside/plane reads I need to bring along?}

Leave a comment with a recommendation - I would be ever-so-grateful!

  2. There are more books int he "Something Borrowed" series... Something Blue is the next one I think. Anything by Emily Giffin is great! I think I even have it if you want to borrow. not sure when you're leaving.

  3. If you liked Emily Giffin you need to read all of her books. The follow up to Something borrowed is Something Blue - another great read.
She also has other books that I highly recommend - Baby Proof and Love the One You're With. I could not put them down - they are such great books!

If you liked The Help - an even better book to read is "Someone Knows my Name" by Lawrence Hill. It has to do with slavery, so along the same lines as the Help, but in mind, the book is ten times better. It is sold in Canada with the title "The book of Negroes"

  4. Hi Ashley! Yes, I read all of Emily Giffin's books this last winter. It was fun to see a movie come out with a random book series I picked up. Anyways, "Something Blue" is good and my fav in her series is "Love the One Your With". Happy reading!

  6. I agree with Crista and Melanie, you should continue the Emily Giffin books, they are all FABULOUS, easy reads, perfect for vacation! Have you read Water for Elephants? Another great book/movie combo.

I haven't read Water for Elephants, but it is definitely on my must-read list! I ended up going with Something Blue because I figured it'd be a mindless, entertaining beach/pool read and it is so far! Thanks for all of the options!

Thanks Amber - I'm about halfway done with Something Blue and loving it so far. Saw your picture of your little one reading it too, so figured it must be a good one. :)
